ARDBEG

Ardbeg Distillery has been producing whisky since 1798, although initially it operated illegally. It was officially established by the MacDougall family in 1815, marking the true start of production. At that time, most whisky was made for use in blended whiskies rather than as single malt. Production was halted in 1981, but resumed in 1989 at a reduced capacity. The distillery returned to full production in 1998 after being acquired by Glenmorangie plc in 1997. Ardbeg has earned an incredible reputation, adored worldwide, and has been named Whisky of the Year four times in the past seven years. No matter where you are in the world, you can be sure you’re close to an Ardbeg embassy—whether at bars or retail locations. It’s said that the unmistakable scent of peaty aroma will guide you to the Ardbeg embassy, as it dominates the local scents.
