Angostura Amaro is one of the most famous and recognizable liqueurs in the world, with a rich history dating back to the 19th century. Its story begins in the town of Angostura (now Ciudad Bolívar) in Venezuela, where in 1824, military doctor Johann Gottlieb Benjamin Siegert started producing this unique liqueur. After Siegert’s death, production was taken over by his sons, and the brand expanded its presence into international markets. Angostura became a key ingredient in many classic cocktails. Today, Angostura is produced in Trinidad and Tobago and remains highly valued both as a digestif and a cocktail ingredient.
