LES CEPAGES

Les Cépages was created in 1995, when Baroness Philippine de Rothschild decided to cultivate wines that express the character of each individual grape variety. For her project, she found ideal conditions in the idyllic vineyards of Languedoc-Roussillon. She simply named them “Les Cépages” — the French word for grape varieties. In various areas around the town of Limoux, the vines used for the Les Cépages series benefit from perfect conditions to fully develop their varietal aromas. The interplay of limestone, sand, and clay soils, along with high daytime temperatures and the cooling sea breeze at night, gives these wines their intense aromas, rich, vibrant fruit, and a distinct sense of elegance and finesse.
