Mouton Cadet 1930 I was born in 1930 at Pauillac in the mind of a man of genius. I was born in 1930 at Pauillac in the Medoc, where the world’s finest wines are made, in the mind of a man of genius: Baron Philippe de Rothschild. His father had entrusted a treasure, Chateau Mouton Rothschild, to him, the youngest of the family, the ‘cadet’ in French. And that is how he came to think up my name: Mouton Cadet.
Mouton Cadet Blanc
A glittering straw yellow. The fresh and elegant nose combines typical Sauvignon Blanc aromas of box with typical Sémillon notes of grapefuit and white peach. The well-balanced and fruit-driven attack extends into a dense, fresh mid-palate on citrus and white fruit flavours. Grapefruit and peach notes accompany a subtle and very fresh finish. Variety of grapes: Sauvignon Blanc (77%), Semillon (21%) and Muscadelle (2%)
Mouton Cadet Rouge
A deep ruby red. The nose opens on aromas of red fruit (raspberry, strawberry)and mild spice, going on with airing to reveal black fruit (blackberry, bilberry) followed by aromatic herb notes (garrigue) which enhance and freshen the bouquet. Variety of grapes: Merlot (80%), Cabernet Sauvignon (12%) and Cabernet Franc (8%)
Mouton Cadet Sauvignon Blanc
Pale yellow with a slightly greenish tint. The nose opens on box and lime aromas, while notes of Granny Smith apple add a touch of complexity with airing. The wine explodes with fruit and freshness on the palate, in harmony with the nose. The mid-palate is elegant, stylish and expressive, extending into a fresh and mineral finish on notes of box and lime. Variety of grapes: 100% Sauvignon blanc
Mouton Cadet Rose
Lychee pink with pale coral highlights. The nose initially reveals very fresh notes of redcurrant and pink grapefruit, then develops more exotic aromas such as lychee. The fresh and fruity attack expresses all the crispness of acidulated red fruit, such as redcurrant, already present on the nose. The mid-palate is dense, on fresh fruit flavours, while notes of raspberry and blood orange prevail on the intense finish. Variety of grapes: Merlot (74%), Cabernet Franc (15%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (11%)
